Oncology
UT Oncology is nationally and internationally known for the treatment of Genitourinary tumors and will develop similar tumor specific research in each tumor system. While at the forefront of oncology research, the program stays true to high standards for patient care and clinical excellence. In the absence of a standard of care treatment or for patients that have failed standard of care therapy, research options are available. Investigators will conduct clinical trials with specific interest in vaccine, gene and molecular targeted therapy.
UT Oncology physicians work closely with other academic specialists to ensure patient safety while treating cancer. Specialists are available to help manage any heart, lung or kidney issues that may arise during cancer treatment. The UT Oncology Program is developing working groups so that our doctors and the complimentary team made up of pathologists, radiologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, cardiologists, and pulmonologists are all working together in order to promote the best comprehensive care for our patients.
Patients that require systemic therapy for their cancers will receive that treatment in the Memorial Hermann Cancer Center, Outpatient Infusion Center. The Cancer Center is located in the UT Professional Building at 6410 Fannin, Suite 370. The nursing staff in the infusion center is in constant communication with UT Oncology physicians to ensure that patients are treated appropriately.
