COVID-19 vaccine

Roll out of the COVID-19 vaccine to patients begins at UT Physicians based off of federal guidance.

Dear patients, families, and caretakers,

We are entering the holiday season with important news to share. The COVID-19 vaccine is expected to be available for distribution within the next few weeks.

Preparations & distribution

We have begun our preparations and will be utilizing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations for distribution. Due to limited initial supplies, certain populations—including front-line health care workers and high-risk individuals—will be the first to receive the vaccine. We anticipate the supply will quickly ramp up, and that the vaccines will be widely available in the coming months.

Both vaccines that are currently planned for the initial distribution will require two doses. Patients will receive a second dose either 21 or 28 days after their first inoculation.

Do your part to reduce the spread

Until the vaccine is widely available to the public, we urge you to maintain the safety recommendations outlined by state officials and the CDC—including frequent handwashing, social distancing, and wearing a mask.

For additional information, visit our COVID-19 Information Center or the CDC’s website.

We have also developed a Frequently Asked Questions page about the vaccine. It will be updated as new information becomes available.

As we navigate this situation together, please know you and your safety are top of mind. Thank you for your continued support and trust.

Happy holidays,

Andrew Casas
