UT Physicians provides immigration physicals by health care providers who are designated by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The service is offered at a location in Bellaire, the International District, and Bayshore to individuals currently living in the United States.

Immigration physicals now available

“As a practice, we are continuing our mission to expand health care access to more individuals,” said Andrew Casas, chief operating officer of UT Physicians and senior vice president of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). “This is just one more step. I am proud that some of our physicians have completed the federal government’s process to offer this service within our community.”

According to the USCIS, medical examinations and vaccinations in the United States are typically required of anyone who applies for lawful permanent resident status (Form I-485). The process includes a vaccination record review, comprehensive medical exam, immunization administration (if required), Form I-693 completion, and required laboratory testing. A majority of the requirements can be completed during one visit. Physicians who are designated by the USCIS to perform immigration medical exams are also referred to as civil surgeons.

Immigration physicals are provided at UT Physicians Family Practice – Bellaire, 5420 Dashwood, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77081; UT Physicians Multispecialty – International District, 10623 Bellaire Boulevard, Suite C280, Houston, TX 77072; and UT Physicians Family Practice – Bayshore, 11452 Space Center Boulevard, Houston, TX 77059.
