UT Physicians Recognized with Patient Service Award
UnitedHealthcare has recognized UT Physicians with its PATH Excellence in Patient Service Award. The accolade was presented to UT Physicians for our commitment to improving outcomes for members enrolled in UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare Advantage plans.
The managed care organization created the PATH program to assist Medicare Advantage plan members by encouraging greater use of preventive services and proactive monitoring of chronic conditions.
“This award is welcomed recognition for UT Physicians’ effort to improve healthcare,” said Thomas J. Murphy, M.D., assistant dean for health policy and chief medical officer for community-based clinics at UT Physicians. “As U.S. healthcare moves rapidly towards a value-based system with core values that include decreasing costs and improving patient experience, having UnitedHealthcare acknowledge UT Physicians’ success in this area is very gratifying. UT Physicians is transforming health care delivery and improving the overall health of our patients.”
UnitedHealthcare annually rewards physicians who meet certain performance-based criteria, including achieving or exceeding targets established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for specific Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures.
“UT Physicians will continue to put its patients first and deliver quality evidence-based care the community is counting on in Southeast Texas,” said Andrew Casas, vice president and COO of UT Physicians. “Our clinical practice will continue its mission to make access to health care more readily available and preventative care a priority.”
This is the second year in a row that UT Physicians has earned the award.
