Orthopaedic trauma surgery
Orthopaedic trauma surgery is a hallmark of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. As the orthopaedic trauma providers of Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center’s Level 1 Trauma Center, our department faculty, residents, and students have access to a tremendous range and volume of trauma care.
This Memorial Hermann Trauma Center is one of the busiest trauma units in the United States and is home to LifeFlight, which serves a 150-mile radius around the clock. The hospital’s ground ambulance service provides a 300-mile radius of Houston, and both services offer adult and children’s transport teams.
Memorial Hermann’s trauma center treats more than 14,000 trauma patients per year, and more than half of patients admitted to most trauma centers have musculoskeletal injuries. Providing excellent care for our patients with fractures, dislocations, and injuries of ligaments, muscles, tendons and cartilage in a team environment is our daily goal.
