Dr. Bruce Tjaden Jr. is a board certified General Surgeon and fellowship trained Vascular Surgeon. He is an Assistant Professor in the UT Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery. Dr. Tjaden obtained his undergraduate degree in Boston, and then returned home to the Midwest where he attended medical school and completed a General Surgery residency at the University of Kansas. Most recently, he completed his Vascular Fellowship here at UTHealth.
Dr. Tjaden has authored many publications within the field of vascular surgery, both in the form of peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters. His clinical interests include the surgical and endovascular treatment of carotid disease, complex aortic surgery, and limb salvage.
Dr. Tjaden and his wife (who is also a physician) live in Houston with their two happy dogs and one grumpy cat. When not working, they share a passion for food, travel, and adventures.
