South University, 2014
Caitlin Temple is a physician assistant in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UT Health).
Her primary clinical interests and experience includes orthopedic spine surgery and orthopedic oncology. She primarily works as an integral provider of the Orthopedic Oncology team and plays an important role in surgery and post-operative management and care of the surgical patients. She sees all surgical patients at their first post-operative appointment and focuses on keeping her patients informed, and involved in their care and treatment plan.
She is an active provider in the Ortho Triage initiative which focuses on seeing patients with new orthopedic complaints who are seeking care for the first time. Back pain is a common complaint that she sees and will begin the diagnostic work up and initiate treatment. She will refer to the spine surgery team, or pain management when conservative treatment fails or signs and symptoms prompt an urgent referral. She feels it is important her patients understand their condition, cause of their symptoms, and both surgical and conservative options for treatment.
In her spare time, Caitlin enjoys yoga, travel, hiking and running. She loves spending time with her husband and two dogs who she volunteers with as certified therapy dogs.
