Dr. David Thompson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
Dr. Thompson has been in practice since 1991. His practice includes the spectrum of colon and rectal surgical problems including colonoscopy.
Dr. Thompson is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, as well as a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Harris County Medical Society.
Dr. Thompson is married to Dr. Gretchen Zimmerman, a general surgeon in Houston and has twin boy and girl children, one of whom is a general surgery resident, and the other is a medical student.
