Dr. Duraisamy Balaguru is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
Board certified in pediatric cardiology, Dr. Balaguru is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Cardiology and the Society of Catheterization, Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Balaguru participates in cardiac intensive care and treats patients from birth to 19 years old. He is also fluent in Tamil.
Dr. Balaguru’s practice philosophy focuses on attention to detail and excellence of care. He believes in providing world-class patient care. During his career, Dr. Balaguru has been honored with the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award. He has authored numerous journal articles and frequently lectures on topics and research findings related to pediatric cardiology.
Dr. Balaguru is married and a resident of Houston.
