Karina Richani, MD, is an associate professor in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
Dr. Richani cares for patients of all ages. She is devoted to providing compassionate and personalized care.
Dr. Richani is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Houston Ophthalmological Society, the American Society of Ophthalmic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the North American Society of Academic Orbital Surgeons. She has received many awards throughout her career, such as the Kresge Eye Institute Lawrence L. Stocker Award, Most Compassionate Resident Physician (2010), Kresge Eye Institute Outstanding Achievement in Education (2010), and Star of Kresge, excellence in patient care, Kresge Eye Institute (2008).
When Dr. Richani is not caring for her patients, she enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her husband and three children.
