Marcie Dinkin is a licensed clinical social worker with UT Physicians. She provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents and young adults.
A graduate of the University Of Houston School Of Social Work, Ms. Dinkin’s graduate studies focused on children and adolescents in relation to substance abuse, mental illness and trauma. Ms. Dinkin is skilled in a wide range of techniques including dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic and experiential education.
She has extensive training in trauma and focuses on a trauma informed lens, while using both elements of TF-CBT and TG-CTA. She has worked in residential treatment facilities, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, schools and community mental health centers, which have provided Ms. Dinkin with experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families
She utilizes a client-centered, empowerment, collaborative, relational approach to clinical work. Ms. Dinkin is also a Texas State Board of Social Worker Approved Clinical Supervisor, a field instructor with the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work and a member of Trauma Education Board with the Graduate College of Social Work.
