Dr. Nelson Davino is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Davino specializes in Pediatric Orthopedics. Dr. Davino treating newborns to teens with deformities of the extremities, juvenile arthritis, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and bone disease as well as routine and compound fractures. He is one of the few physicians in Texas trained to perform the radial ulna osteotomy.
A decorated military officer, he specializes in treating newborns to teens with deformities of the extremities, juvenile arthritis, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and bone disease as well as routine and compound fractures. Fluent in Spanish and conversant in Italian, Dr. Davino works to put his patients and their parents at ease by establishing a rapport that helps facilitate the healing process.
Dr. Davino and his wife have five children. He enjoys water sports, boating and watching science fiction and adventure movies.
Dr. Davino is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, and the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America.
