Sandra Soenning, PhD, has a special interest in making a psychological assessment more collaborative in a way that helps an adolescent and their family gain a clearer understanding of struggles and strengths.
Dr. Soenning has extensive training and experience with personality assessment measures, including objective personality measures (e.g., Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, Millon Adolescent Clinical Inventory, Personality Assessment Inventory) as well as projective measures (e.g., the Adolescent Apperception Test, Rorschach Performance Assessment System). She has experience doing individual and group therapy with children, adolescents, and adults and has a particular interest in working with adolescents.
Choosing her therapeutic approach based on an individual’s needs, she has experience and training using mentalization-based treatment and cognitive behavior and acceptance and commitment therapies.
Dr. Soenning enjoys teaching and supervising psychology graduate students and interns. She has also supervised psychological testing and assessment for many years.
