Sarah Homann, M.D., assistant professor of internal medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, developed a personal interest in the field of rheumatology about 10 years ago.
“I became interested in rheumatology when my mother developed rheumatoid arthritis,” said Dr. Homann. “Then after rotating in the rheumatology department while I was a resident at UTHealth, it became an easy decision to enter the field myself.”
Dr. Homann explained there are many facets about her field that bring her joy.
“There are many aspects to love about being a rheumatologist,” Homann said. “One of the most important ones to me is the long term relationship we are able to develop with our patients.”
Dr. Homann is a member of the American College of Rheumatology.
