Dr. Thomas Rivers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Rivers specializes in General Orthopedics with an emphasis in treating sports related injuries.
Dr. Rivers treats patients of all ages. His special interests include knee replacements and caring for patients with fractures, athletic injuries and trauma. He takes a conservative approach to treatment and involves the patient in determining the best treatment option by providing realistic expectations. The favorite part of his job is helping his patients get to back to enjoying their lives.
Dr. Rivers is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He serves as the team physician for Foster High School in Richmond and Fort Bend Christian Academy.
A resident of Sugar Land, Dr. Rivers and his wife have four children. An avid Texas A&M fan, he also enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
