‘Tis the season for pop in guests and UT Physicians Multispecialty – The Heights got the merriest one of all. That’s right, Santa stopped by to spread cheer and goodies to our patients of all ages.

On Thursday, December 19, patients were surprised to find Santa waiting with books and toys. Will McWhorter, community practice manager, has transformed into the iconic beloved character for over 20 years for different events and charities. However, becoming Santa for his clinic is something he holds dear.

“Doing this each year with my staff is truly special. We pride ourselves in being part of the community and this is just one magical way we do it. Seeing joy on the children’s faces and laughter from the adults who still want to take a picture with Santa, that’s priceless,” said McWhorter.

A nook of the waiting area was donned with sacks of presents and decorations. From morning until almost closing time, everyone who visited the clinic had an opportunity to take a photo with Santa. Donated by the staff, children received a toy and book to make their doctor’s visit a little sweeter. They also got the opportunity to put in last minute requests for their wish lists.

The staff got into the spirit as well, some even becoming Santa’s helpers. This way from check-in, to the exam room and finally at checkout, guests received a true holiday experience.

“I know for a fact that Santa and his elves have plans to visit The Heights for years to come. Everyone should be on the lookout,” said McWhorter.
