UT Physicians at The Heights has been recognized with a Level 3 distinction by the NCQA.

UT Physicians at The Heights, a part of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), has been awarded recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The clinic was recognized with a Level 3 distinction by the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program.

“We want our patients to have the highest quality of care possible, and this honor shows we are going above and beyond to successfully achieve that goal,” said Will McWhorter, practice manager. “I am deeply humbled to be a part of such a magnificent medical family here with UT Physicians at The Heights. Our Level 3 accreditation is due to the high degree of compassion, commitment and pride our entire team feels for our community, and that is what sets us apart.”

The PCMH program was developed to assess whether physician practices are functioning as medical homes and recognize them for these efforts. Recognition standards emphasize the use of systematic, patient-centered, long-term coordinated care that supports access, communication and patient involvement while reducing costs.

“Our clinic has an amazing, diverse group of providers and staff invested in providing high quality, holistic health care,” said Kenya M. Parks, M.D., medical director and assistant professor of pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. “There is an unscripted, extraordinary level of empathy that is palpable throughout the facility. Additionally, the providers and staff are in a constant pursuit to evolve innovative modes of healthcare delivery. I am deeply honored to be part of this clinic. This recognition is an incredible accolade.”
