Otorhinolaryngologists named to best doctors list

Two of the nation’s top otorhinolaryngologists practice at UT Physicians, the clinical practice of McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).

Martin J. Citardi, M.D., professor and chair of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at McGovern Medical School, and Amber U. Luong, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, have been named to the Best Doctors in America® list for 2017-2018.

“Selection for the Best Doctors in America List is a great honor, since the list’s members are selected by physicians through a rigorous process run by the Best Doctors organization,” said Dr. Citardi, who is also chief of otorhinolaryngology at Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center. “Also, the Best Doctors service provides information directly to patients, and I support the concept that informed patients make the best health care decisions.”

Dr. Luong and Dr. Citardi provide research-proven services with advanced technologies to patients from around the world. Dr. Citardi is an internationally-recognized rhinologist, researcher, author and editor. His clinical interests include refractory sinusitis, revision sinus surgery, computer-aided surgery and minimally invasive anterior skull base surgery. Dr. Luong is a surgeon-scientist who has been funded by multiple sources including the National Institutes of Health. She has co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Her research and clinical interests include allergic fungal rhinosinusitis, refractory chronic rhinosinusitis, the pathophysiology of chronic respiratory disease, endoscopic orbital and dacryocystorhinostomy surgery.
