Pediatrics
Children have unique needs, and our team of specialized pediatric interventionalists uses specialized, child-friendly approaches to deliver safe, effective care using the least invasive methods possible.
Vascular anomalies
Some children are born with or develop abnormal clusters of blood vessels. We treat vascular malformations and hemangiomas using techniques like embolization or sclerotherapy to shrink or eliminate these vessels and relieve symptoms like pain, swelling, or cosmetic concerns.
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and central venous occlusions
Though rare in children, blood clots or blocked veins can occur due to congenital conditions, infections, or medical devices. We use image-guided techniques to dissolve clots or open narrowed veins to restore blood flow.
Feeding difficulties
When babies or children can’t eat safely by mouth, we place feeding tubes (such as G-tubes or GJ-tubes) using imaging for accurate, gentle placement, ensuring safe delivery of nutrition.
Central venous access
For children who need long-term medications, nutrition, or chemotherapy, we place central venous catheters or implantable ports using minimally invasive techniques.
Pediatric cancer care
Interventional radiology plays a vital role in cancer treatment for children by supporting biopsies, tumor embolization, and ablation when needed. These procedures help diagnose and treat cancer while minimizing trauma to healthy tissue.
