Families in Katy and surrounding communities now have access to a new level of pediatric care, thanks to the opening of UT Physicians Pediatric Multispecialty – Katy on Oct. 27. Located on the second floor of Memorial Hermann Katy Medical Plaza 3, this 24,000-square-foot clinic brings together 14 pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties under one roof. Families can rely on expert and compassionate care close to home.
Designed with collaboration and comfort in mind, the clinic features more than 35 exam rooms, a centralized check-in/check-out area, and a welcoming environment tailored to young patients and their families. Unlike traditional clinics that share space with adult services, this new facility is entirely dedicated to the care of women and children.
Expanding access to pediatric subspecialties
This new location marks a significant expansion of UT Physicians’ pediatric presence beyond the Texas Medical Center. It offers a wide range of specialties, including ENT and urology, which are being introduced to the Katy area for the first time by UT Physicians.

“One of the ways we better serve communities is by providing high-quality clinical and surgical care that is right around the corner,” said Jason K. Au, MD, a pediatric urologist in the new Katy clinic and associate professor in the Division of Pediatric Urology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. “I hope families will feel warm and welcomed and that they will make the new Katy clinic their new medical home.”
The full list of specialties planned includes:
- Allergy and immunology
- Cardiology
- Endocrinology
- Gastroenterology
- General surgery
- Nephrology
- Neurology
- Neurosurgery
- ENT (otorhinolaryngology)
- Plastic surgery
- Psychiatry
- Psychology
- Pulmonology
- Urology
Creating a collaborative vision for community health
The clinic is the result of years of planning and partnership between UTHealth Houston and Memorial Hermann. Leaders like Kevin P. Lally, MD, the A.G. McNeese Chair, Richard J. Andrassy, MD, Distinguished Chair, and professor and chair of pediatric surgery at McGovern Medical School, and Mary Aitken, MD, the Dan L Duncan Distinguished University Chair and professor and chair of pediatrics at McGovern Medical School, envisioned a regional hub that would bring high-quality, pediatric specialty care to where families live.
“These are early and exciting days,” said Lally. “Our community deserves better access where kids actually live. And that’s what we’re doing.”
Improving the patient experience
The integrated model directly benefits families by providing services such as surgical consultation and diagnostic testing in one place. It also expands access to support-service providers, such as dietitians, case managers, and social workers, ensuring a holistic approach to pediatric care.
The Katy clinic is the first of several planned regional hubs aimed at expanding UT Physicians’ pediatric reach across the Greater Houston area. With its comprehensive services, patient-centered design, and collaborative foundation, the clinic represents a bold new chapter in pediatric care for the region.
The new pediatric clinic is located at 23964 Katy Freeway, Suite 200, in Katy. For appointments, contact the clinic at 713-486-7950.
