Upon medical school graduation, Ana Leech, M.D., completed a general surgery internship followed by a residency in family medicine. She completed her formal training with a fellowship in palliative medicine and hospice.
Dr. Leech was the medical director for Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Memorial Hermann Southwest for six years prior to joining UT Physicians and McGovern Medical School in 2017.
She is very interested in providing compassionate, dignified care to patients at the end of life. She believes during the last months of life, it is also critically important to care for the patient’s family, as well. Dr. Leech considers the entire family unit her patient. She also feels clear communication is very important in providing medical care.
Dr. Leech, who is director of the Palliative Support Team for Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center, is fluent in Spanish.
