Bhavani Iyer, OD, received her doctor of optometry degree from Michigan College of Optometry in Big Rapids, Michigan, in 1997 following completion of her Baccalaureate in Optometry at the Elite School of Optometry in Madras, India.
Dr. Iyer completed a fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry, Low Vision Section in Rockville, Maryland. She is presently a clinical assistant professor in the Ruiz Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She is director of the Dan Arnold Center for Vision Rehabilitation and has been with the department since 2007.
Dr. Iyer is an experienced low vision professional with expertise in prescribing magnification for reading, driving, and rehabilitation for activities of daily living.
