Chris Hawks is a physician assistant in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
Chris received his degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University in 2009, before completing his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Baylor College of Medicine in 2011. Since graduation, he has worked alongside Dr. Kenneth Mathis, a fellowship trained adult reconstruction surgeon, specializing in hip and knee replacement. Chris is involved in the full spectrum of care, having assisted in thousands of surgeries, and sees patients in both hospital and clinic settings.
Chris is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.
Outside of work, Chris is very active in his church and community. He also enjoys the outdoors, sports, music, good food, traveling, and spending time with his wife and five kids.
