Cristian Sorin Sarateanu, MD, is an assistant professor of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
Dr. Sarateanu is skilled in minimally invasive thoracic surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
He has participated in basic science research projects including the autologous skeletal myoblasts transplant in myocardial infarction scar and angiogenesis for peripheral arterial disease and myocardial ischemia. He has published research in leading journals including the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. He is also a reviewer for the Texas Heart Institute Journal.
Dr. Sarateanu is Romanian and enjoys travelling, biking, and photography.
