Deepa A. Iyengar, MD, MPH, is a board-certified family medicine physician treating patients of all ages. She focuses on providing care that is respectful and responsive to each patient’s preferences, needs, and values. Iyengar has an interest in health conditions unique to people of Southeast Asian descent, women’s health, and obesity.
She’s a professor and vice chair for the Department of Family and Community Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where she’s also the Stanley G. Schultz, M.D., Endowed Professor in Global Health. Additionally, she’s the medical director for two UT Physicians clinics.
Outside of work, Iyengar enjoys exercising and listening to music.
