Eric F. Berkman, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in general orthopedics with an emphasis on total joint reconstruction and knee and shoulder injuries.
He’s also an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
Berkman treats his patients with individualized care, as each patient has unique injuries and issues. His training has allowed him to specialize in leading-edge knee and shoulder treatments. Most treatments are conservative and nonsurgical. If conservative treatment fails, he will give personalized surgical care to each patient in a state-of-the-art facility.
Dr. Berkman is a member of Houston Orthopedic Society, Harris County Medical Society, Houston Shoulder Society, and Texas Orthopedic Association.
He has run a large charity golf tournament for 18 years and fishing tournament for 10 years to raise money for Good Samaritan Foundation (nursing scholarships), Patriot Paws (service dogs for PTSD veterans), Fort Bend Women’s Shelter, Ronald McDonald House, Wounded Warriors Weekend-Port O’Connor, and Faith in Practice.
He loves golf, fishing, bird hunting, and being with his son on the Strake Jesuit golf team and two-year-old daughter.
He has had many publications and research awards.
