Francisco Fuentes, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cardiovascular disease specialist treating patients with heart-related conditions.
He’s the T.R. & M.O. Levy Endow Professorship in Cardiology Research and director of the cardiac rehabilitation program and the cardiology fellowship program at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, underscoring his clinical and educator excellence.
Fuentes is a recognized health educator and volunteer in the community. He received the Herbert L. and Margaret W. DuPont Master Clinical Teaching Award. He was named a Texas Super Doctor by Texas Monthly and Top Doctors for Women—Cardiology by H Texas Magazine. Congressman Al Green gave him a special certificate of congressional recognition for his outstanding dedication to health care, education, and community service. He was honored by the American Heart Association for his numerous contributions to cardiovascular medicine and the Hispanic community. He received the Benjy F. Brooks, MD, Award from McGovern Medical School for outstanding clinical faculty.
