Hongjie Zhang, MD, PhD, is a subspecialty physician within the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. She completed endocrinology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Zhang has experience in the clinical management of patients with a broad spectrum of general endocrine disorders including thyroid disorders, obesity, osteoporosis, pituitary disease and diabetes.
Prior to joining UT Physicians, she worked at Diabetes America where she specialized in treating diabetic patients.
Dr. Zhang has done extensive research on diabetes and Beta-cell regeneration at Vanderbilt University and Baylor College of Medicine. She has been the recipient of competitive grant of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Postdoctoral Fellowship and has published high-impact publications.
Dr. Zhang is a board-certified physician in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism and internal medicine.
She is an active member of both local and national endocrine organizations including The Endocrine Society and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
