Jacquelyn Okeke is a licensed clinical social worker with UT Physicians. She provides therapy to children, adolescents and adults, and utilizes a client-centered approach to meet her patients where they are in life. She carefully listens to the whole story, and together they devise a plan on the best solutions.
Her clinical work focuses on the use of psychotherapy to treat a wide variety of issues including depression, trauma, anxiety, family conflicts, issues surrounding grief, bereavement and adjustment issues. She has extensive knowledge of the child welfare system including foster care and adoption, as well as experience working in the hospital setting.
Ms. Okeke’s experience and clinical training in evidence-based psychotherapy include cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, and interpersonal social rhythm therapy.
Ms. Okeke received a Bachelor of Science in Family Relations and Child Development from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Houston. She also received a national certification for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
