Mehul D. Patel, MD, is focused on providing comprehensive heart care for children. He works with pediatric patients to treat complex heart disease, high-risk cardiac disease and other related conditions. His goal to to see his patients thrive and overcome a serious or sudden diagnosis. In addition to his specialty, Dr. Patel also has expertise in echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance (MRI), and cardiac computed tomography (CT).
Growing up in Plainview, Texas, Dr. Patel attended University of Texas at Dallas and obtained his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. After finishing his pediatric residency at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, he moved north to complete a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
After working at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for several years, he completed an additional fellowship in advanced noninvasive imaging at University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
In 2019, he joined the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston).
