Rohan Bhimani, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon. His expertise includes complex deformity correction, total ankle replacement, minimally invasive techniques, fracture management, and sports-related foot and ankle injuries. With an evidence-based approach, he combines advanced research, surgical innovation, and team collaboration to help patients restore mobility and function.
Bhimani earned his medical degree from Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College in Pune, India. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College, with clinical training at Ruby Hall Clinic. He then pursued subspecialty fellowships in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Harvard Medical School–Massachusetts General Hospital, and Emory University Hospital. In addition, he completed a traveling fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Korea University Guro Hospital in Seoul, South Korea.
In addition to his clinical practice, Bhimani maintains a strong commitment to academic research. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. His studies focus on foot and ankle biomechanics, advanced imaging, and diagnostic innovation. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Amsterdam University Medical Centers, where he is researching the role of weight-bearing CT in diagnosing foot and ankle instability. His work has been published in leading orthopedic journals and presented at national and international conferences, including meetings of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society. Bhimani is also passionate about education. He has led resident lectures, surgical skills labs, and ultrasound workshops, helping train the next generation of orthopedic surgeons. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society and other professional organizations worldwide.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Bhimani enjoys tennis, traveling, and exploring new cuisines.
