Dr. Sheng Li is an Associate Professor at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
As an attending physician, Dr. Li’s primary clinical focus is spasticity management for patients after neurological impairments, such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and cerebral palsy. His clinical interest includes management of post-traumatic headache with botulinum toxin injection.
His primary research interest is pathophysiology and management of spasticity and neuropathic pain. He has invented a technique – breathing-controlled electrical stimulation as a non-pharmacological intervention for management of spasticity and neuropathic pain.
He is currently an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Human Neuroscience. He is a member of Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP), American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR), Society for Neuroscience (SFN).
