Jennifer B. Hughes, PhD, is a fellowship-trained psychologist. She takes a collaborative approach to treating trauma and PTSD in children and adults. Working with the patient, she develops a personalized treatment plan based on evidence-based practices. By using standardized assessments to help document and track sessions, patients can see their progress in real time.
Hughes is also an assistant professor of psychiatry at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
As a fellowship-trained infant mental health professional, Hughes is uniquely trained to treat PTSD in adolescents and adults. She also specializes in the treatment of trauma related to injury or medial trauma and works directly with orthopedic and trauma surgeons. Patients value her honesty and personable nature.
Hughes earned her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2015 at the University of California at Santa Barbara. She completed her internship in clinical psychology at Louisiana State University HSC New Orleans in 2014, where she also completed fellowship training in 2016 and was an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry at University Medical Center New Orleans, a Level I Trauma Center.
