When it comes to taking care of patients, our UT Physicians community-based clinics extend compassion outside our brick-and-mortar buildings.
Several back-to-school events hosted by clinics across the practice plan helped families and children prepare for a healthy start.
“These events allow us to connect with our community and emphasize the importance of preventive care,” said Jennifer Bradley, executive director of community-based clinics. “For instance, at one location, we offered physicals and vaccine checks to ensure children are healthy and ready to start the school year on the right foot. This gives us an opportunity to address any potential health concerns before they become more serious.”

At UT Physicians Multispecialty – International District, dental screenings, vision screenings, and BMI screenings were offered during a special back-to-school event in August. Dozens of students received care while their families were also provided with no-cost screenings.
“It’s incredibly important to give back to the community we serve, especially when many services aren’t readily available to them,” said S. Christopher Adeniran, community practice manager at UT Physicians Multispecialty – International District. “Often, due to cost, individuals go without the care they need.”
In Fort Bend County, the UT Physicians wellness team assisted UT Physicians Multispecialty – Rosenberg as they offered screenings and giveaways at the Needville High School health fair and a teacher celebration at the Rosenberg Civic Center.

“Our wellness team is incredible. Their energy and dedication shine at every community event, helping us connect with neighbors and promote the services of our community-based clinics with warmth, professionalism, and care,” said Leslie Feld, senior manager for community relations with UT Physicians.
And at UT Physicians Multispecialty – Greens, students walked away with big smiles and new backpacks during a backpack giveaway event.
“Being part of the community shows our patients the commitment we have to their well-being. It helps break down barriers to health care and makes our services more accessible,” Bradley said. “Our presence in the community allows us to see where our patients live and understand the unique needs and challenges they face. Our providers and staff see this and are more prepared to assist patients in getting resources to assist in their daily lives, as well.”
Preparing for a healthy start to the new school year is a partnership UT Physicians is proud to be part of. Through screenings, checkups, vaccinations, and assisting families, our providers know that keeping kids healthy will have long-term positive impacts on their performance in the classroom.
