Dr. Austin is board certified in Surgery, Surgical Critical Care and Pediatric Surgery.
Dr. Austin has been in practice in Houston since 2010, treating patients up to 18 years old. Dr. Austin’s practice philosophy is to treat each child and family as she would want her own to be treated. She takes the time needed to explain health problems and plans to patients and families.
Dr. Austin’s research focus is clinical outcomes research in the field of pediatric surgical oncology. She is also interested in identifying geographic and socioeconomic barriers to care for pediatric cancer patients and working to dissolve these barriers.
A resident of Houston, Dr. Austin is married and the mother of two young children. Outside the office, she enjoys triathlon, cycling, travel and family activities.
