What is MyUTHealth?
Beginning May 8, 2021, MyUTHealth will offer patients personalized and secure online access to portions of their medical records. Patients will be able to securely use the internet to help manage and receive information about their health. With MyUTHealth, which is part of the My Chart medical app, patients can:
- Request medical appointments
- View your health summary from the MyUTHealth electronic health record
- View test results
- Request prescription renewals
- Access trusted health information resources
- Communicate electronically and securely with your health care team
- Pay an invoice
- So much more!

MyUTHealth is a free service offered to patients beginning May 8, 2021.
The new patient portal will be available in May 2021. For adult neuroscience patients only, view this page to learn more about your transition to a new portal.
Patients will have multiple ways to sign up via their mobile device or computer. To ensure access for all patients who want to participate, we will send you information on how to sign up to the email address you have provided to your physician and health care team.
Your test results will be released to your MyUTHealth account as soon as they are available.
You will generally receive an answer within 1-3 business days. Please note MyUTHealth should not be used for urgent situations. For medical emergencies requiring immediate attention, please dial 911 or go to the nearest medical facilty.
Yes, you can. This is called proxy access and allows a parent, guardian, spouse or other authorized family member to log in to their personal MyUTHealth account and then connect to information regarding their family member. Complete a Proxy Consent Form and return it to one of our clinics to request access to this convenient service or select Share My Record from the Health menu. From there you can select “Friends and family access” and modify or add new access to your health record.
Due to the sensitive nature of medical information, each adult must establish their own MyUTHealth account. While spouses cannot share one account, they can grant proxy access.
We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal usernames, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Unlike conventional email, all MyUTHealth messaging is done while you are securely logged on to our website.
MyUTHealth is owned and operated by UTHealth and is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and email address will be treated with the same care and privacy given your health records and will never be sold or leased by MyUTHealth. You need access to a computer, mobile device, or tablet connected to the internet. For a mobile device or tablet, you will be able to download MyUTHealth from Google Play or Apple’s app store.
It’s easy. Beginning on May 8, 2021, you can find UTHealth/UT Physicians on the MyChart app’s health care provider directory.
MyUTHealth can send reminders for preventive care, test results, statements, payment reminder and others. Patients may adjust their notification settings.UTHealth does not have an integrated pharmacy that dispenses medications, so refill due messages will not be available.
Three years of lab and pathology test results will transfer to the new portal once you activate your new account in May 2021. Follow My Health/MyUTP will no longer be accessible after May 7, 2021.
Beginning May 8, 2021, patients will no longer have access to MyUTP/FollowMyHealth. Some, if not all, of your personal health information will become available once you register for MyUTHealth and your physician has reviewed the medical record.
Upon review by your physician, a list of current medications, health issues, allergies, and immunizations will be available on your MyUTHealth account. Most test results from the previous five years, as well as a history of medical appointments since Jan. 1, 2008, will also be available.Please note that while your current medical conditions will be available in the new portal, previous medical conditions, as well as your family medical history and surgery history, will not be released to MyUTHealth. Messages, notes, comments, and attachments exchanged between you and your health care team in MyUTP/FollowMyHealth also will not be transferred to the new portal.
