What is MyUTHealth?

MyUTHealth, powered by MyChart, offers patients personalized and secure on-line access to portions of their medical records. It enables you to securely use the internet to help manage and receive information about your health. With MyUTHealth, you can:
  • Request medical appointments.
  • View your health summary from the MyUTHealth electronic health record.
  • View test results.
  • Request prescription renewals.
  • Access trusted health information resources.
  • Communicate electronically and securely with your medical care team.
  • Pay an invoice.

MyUTHealth is a free service offered to our patients.

The new patient portal will be available in May 2021.

To ensure access for all patients who want to participate, we will send you information on how to sign up to the email address you have provided to your physician. Also, we will post information on how to sign up in the current portal and on Check back for updates on signing up in May 2021.

Your test results are released to your MyUTHealth account after your physician has reviewed them. This is generally within 1-12 days.

You will generally receive an answer within 1-3 business days. Please note that MyUTHealth should not be used for urgent situations. Please contact your medical center if the situation requires immediate attention or dial 911 if it is an emergency.

Yes, you can. This is called proxy access and allows a parent (or guardian) to log in to their personal MyUTHealth account and then connect to information regarding their family member. Complete a proxy consent form and return it to one of our medical facilities to request access to this convenient service or select share my record from the health menu. From there you can select “Friends and family access” and modify or add new access to your health record.

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal usernames, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Unlike conventional e-mail, all MyUTHealth messaging is done while you are securely logged on to our app/website.

MyUTHealth is owned and operated by The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and e-mail address will be treated with the same care and privacy given your health records and will never be sold or leased by UTHealth.

You need access to a computer, mobile device, or tablet connected to the internet. For a mobile device or tablet, you will be able to download MyUTHealth in the Android and Apple app stores.

If you already have a MyChart account, you can add UTHealth as another trusted health care provider. Simply search for UTHealth Houston in your MyChart app to connect with us beginning in May 2021.

MyUTHealth can send reminders for preventive care, test results, statements, payment reminder and others. Patients may adjust their notification settings. UTHealth does not have an integrated pharmacy that dispenses medications, so refill due messages will not be available.

Three years of lab and pathology test results will transfer to the new portal once you activate your new account in May 2021. We will update you once we have additional information on when the current portal called Follow My Health/MyUTP will no longer be accessible. We will provide plenty of notice and reminders to help make this transition easy for you. We will provide updates by sending you messages via the current portal.
